The short answer
Clean's LinkedIn integration is optional. It connects your own LinkedIn account through the Clean extension for Chrome. Once you confirm it, the connection keeps working with Chrome closed. With it connected, Clean searches LinkedIn for the people at each company, reads their profiles and work history to confirm where they work today, and shows the warm paths your network already has to them. The connection is read-only: Clean never posts, messages, sends connection requests or changes anything on your LinkedIn account.
Records tell Clean which companies have a reason to buy, and licensed data providers tell it who works there. With your LinkedIn account connected, Clean also searches LinkedIn for the people at each company, reads their profiles and work history to find and confirm the right ones, and reads your connections to show who can introduce you.
A headline is whatever someone wrote about themselves. Clean reads each person's experience to confirm where they work today and what they do there, so the people Clean names at a company are the ones actually there now.
When someone you already know on LinkedIn is also connected to the person you want to reach, Clean shows that introduction on the prospect's record. Your team starts from a shared connection instead of a cold message.
Clean works through the LinkedIn account you connect, and only searches and reads: people, profiles, work history, and your connections. It never posts, sends messages or connection requests, reacts, accepts invitations, or changes anything on your account. Once you confirm the connection, Chrome doesn't need to stay open. If LinkedIn asks you to sign in again, the LinkedIn row shows Reconnect, and Disconnect removes the connection at any time.
Connecting takes a minute and uses the LinkedIn account you are already signed in to. The LinkedIn row in Integrations shows the connection's status and offers Reconnect if LinkedIn ever asks for it.

Open Integrations in your workspace settings and choose Disconnect on the LinkedIn row. Clean stops using the account, and you can connect again at any time.
